This is 1.4 oz of mature dehydrated starter. 

Instructions: Step One: In a pint size jar mix 1 Tbsp dried starter, 1 Tbsp Bread Flour or Rye Flour and 2 Tbsp Filtered room temp water. Cover with a cheese cloth and set it in a warm place out of sunlight. Step 2: After 4-6 hours feed it again. Add 1/4 cup Bread Flour and 1/4 Water. Mix well and leave in a warm place. Step 3: After 4-6 hours, pour into a quart size jar and feed it 1/2 cup Bread Flour and 1/2 cup water. Cover and let it sit for another 4-6 hours. After it has doubled in size, it is ready to use.

Rye is great for starting starters.
