Holistic Doula Services
What is a Doula? A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client and family before, during and after childbirth to help achieve the healthiest and most satisfying experience possible. Doulas are not medical professionals and cannot provide any medical interventions. Doulas have a positive impact on the well being of the family and improve birth outcomes. Studies have also shown having doula support improves outcomes and decreases medical interventions.

Meet Darci – Your Holistic Doula
I am a woman of faith, a wife, a mother of 2 grown wonderful women, Grandmother to (presently) 3 energetic and happy grandchildren that I help to homeschool, I am also a gardener, an herbalist, educator, friend and now a doula.
I have always been drawn to things that cultivates growth, and assisting where needed in life’s transitions for my family and others. I enjoy being connected to our Lord’s Creation, whether his people, children, animals and the wonder of gardening and the tending of it.
I have a degree in Human Services and Counseling and worked as a Drug and Alcohol and mental health counselor for 12 years. Presently, I work in the Financial Securities Industry as a Virtual assistant to financial advisors and have been doing so since 2012. And so many similar and other unrelated work in-between and around this work.
So, you must wonder how this all fits together? And why did I decide to be a doula? Well, it does not exactly fit together but these experiences and others have helped to shape how I got here. So let me tell you – My youngest daughter was going to have her 1st baby, as her mom to want to help anyway you can, but she and I and my son-in-law like many do not know much, my own experience I will share another day but was not a great one, so that doesn’t help. She does what many do and follow Dr.s suggestions, they are the experts – right? Well baby was fine; but the birth experience was not a good one. I was there with her and my son-in-law throughout and agree it was not a good experience. Child #2 – hospital with a midwife; better but not great. Child #3 (now this is where it gets interesting) My daughter “tells” me – “Mom, you need to take doula classes because hubs and I have decided to have a home birth for this one with just us.” I answer “What is a doula!”. As any loving mother would do, I began my doula classes – What an eye opener!!! I loved what I was learning and realized this was my calling all along with the other knowledge and skills I have, this fit perfectly. So, we, my daughter her husband and myself delivered my 3rd grandchild at home June2024. I was then blessed to assist in another home birth New Years Day 2025. I look forward to assisting others in this natural experience whether at home, a birth center or hospital. The Birth of a child is the best gift in the world.
I take a holistic approach to my work and value the complexity of layers that affect a person’s well-being.
Being mindful of the importance of addressing the body, mind and spirit of a person. I prefer to spend 2-3 sessions with a family, especially if there are other children, to build trust and to get to know them as a family unit, family origins, past experiences and the environment. This way I am able to better understand the unique needs of your family during the various stages of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
